Another Try at Succession for the Organic Movement

Usually, we think about succession as an individual or business by business problem.  This session intends to offer an opportunity to think about succession from a Trade and Movement perspective. The Organic Movement has created a substantial asset base composed of farms, wholesalers and retailers. The succession problem can be posed as the question; how can the Organic Movement ensure that it doesn't lose control of this asset base as a new generation replaces the existing, aging, generation.  How do we, as a Movement, ensure that the legacy farms, wholesalers and retailers that have supported and sustained the Organic Movement continue to play their vital role in a new generation.  Looked at this way, succession becomes a group, communal, political problem not a personal private challenge. A representative from Alternative Ownership Advisors will probably be joining us.
