We are finally at the threshold of real action against toxic pesticides! California created a Sustainable Pest Management (SPM) Roadmap to reduce by 90% the use of hazardous pesticides. Members from the SPM Work Group of stakeholders will share the top priority actions in the Roadmap--actions of keen interest to farmworkers, farmers, researchers, advisors, legislators, activists, and the public. What are the implications of some of the Roadmap’s plans, such as banning toxic pesticides, promoting biologicals and agroecology, and government kitchens buying SPM grown food? How will the Roadmap lead us to a future in which all farmers experience growing without toxic chemicals?
