An Equitable Multi-pronged Model to Localize Food Justice

For 3 years Esperanza Community Farms has operated a community-based farm in Watsonville, CA that includes three synergistic projects: Farm-2-Cafeteria, CSA farm-to-door and small BIPOC farmer Co-op. This intentional and strategically designed model aims to build youth leaders, inform & supply consumers with organic produce and farm-based experiences, while building economic pathways for small farmers of color in the central coast region. This participatory workshop is geared for those interested in investing, influencing and building out this model to benefit directly impacted stakeholders. The presenting team of three are a co-op farmer member, a non-profit administrator and a social justice activist who manage the organization’s day to day and operations and strategic direction. Join us to learn, dialogue and re-design together!
