In June 2022, USDA announced a new initiative to help farms transition to organic production. The initiative will provide $300 million in funding for technical assistance, mentorship, market development, and more. During this workshop, we will describe how organic and transitioning farmers can participate in this initiative. We will also discuss ways to use this new transition initiative as a springboard for more permanent support for organic and transitioning producers in the 2023 Farm Bill.
