Summer will soon wane into autumn, once again calling the agricultural community to rest (at least for a moment) and rejoice in our fruits of labor. No better place to do it than at the annual Hoes Down Harvest Celebration, Saturday and Sunday, October 1 - 2 at Full Belly Farm in beautiful Capay Valley! Two fun-filled days of events and seminars for all ages, and a truly special opportunity to connect with rural life.
Over 5,000 people attend the festival each year, and there is something for everyone. An awesome children's area, farm tours, glowing pumpkins, camping, live music and wagon rides are annual favorites, as well as an all-organic farmers' market with a bounty of seasonal foods including a huge variety of pumpkins, melons, apples, fresh-picked almonds and walnuts. Ticket sales for the Saturday festival, camping, and Sunday seminars will start August 1 at www.hoesdown.org. Mark your calendars and stay tuned!
