California boasts by far the largest number of organic farms in the US (2,800) and enjoys the highest organic sales revenues ($2.2 billion) of any state. Yet its distance from Washington DC, the hub of organic policy, puts California at a distinct disadvantage. From this location it’s challenging to ensure that the unique needs and concerns of our organic growers are accurately represented. It’s imperative for California organic farmers and their allies to join the nationwide Organic Farmers Association (OFA). Come explore how together as a nation of organic farmers, we can assert our collective power and voice in DC. Find ways to deepen our national commitment to transition US farmland to organic for the benefit of current and future generations.
