For the state's critically overdrafted groundwater basins, will wise management be enough or will the future of farming be threatened by the need to maintain groundwater levels? Can the lessons of the state's sustainable agriculture industry help reduce water usage and still keep agriculture viable throughout California? In the session, Jennifer Clary, a water policy and legislative analyst for Clean Water Action, will share an overview of statewide groundwater regulation. Brenton Kelly will share his experience and insight as a permaculturist, farmer, and active community member in the Cuyama Valley, one of the state's critically overdrafter groundwater basins.
