Seed and Scion Swap, Jan 26 8:30-10:00pm

Come One, Come All, to celebrate the 20th Anniversary of the Ecofarm Seed Exchange, one of the most beloved and popular events of the conference!

Hosted once again by the Occidental Arts and Ecology Center, this evening beckons you to immerse yourself in the magical, mystical world of seeds. Join in the ages-old tradition of harvesting the bounty of seeds, and bring those you’ve saved yourself to share in a frenzy of excitement and delight. You’ll no doubt take home some other treasures offered by dozens of fellow farmers, gardeners and seed companies!

Your seeds should be clearly labeled and from non-GMO, non-hybrid varieties –and don’t forget envelopes to take your riches home. You are also encouraged to bring scion wood or cuttings from fruit, nut, and berry crops or any other perennial edible plants, and plastic bags for your new acquisitions. Please bring scions (tip cuttings) that are well labeled, and disease and pest free. Also, no patented cultivars, and no citrus allowed.

Of course, it’s not mandatory to bring seeds or scions in order to attend or collect plant materials at the EcoFarm Seed Swap – just come with the intention of honoring the seeds you take by planting them in your farm or garden, and return with some of your own to share next year.

Experts from the California Rare Fruit Growers (CRFG) and Occidental Arts and Ecology Center (OAEC) will be on hand to answer your questions, as well as many, many other seasoned seed savers in the crowd.

Join with the growing movement of people worldwide who believe that the genetic wealth of our incredible plant heritage must be kept in the hands of the People!
