Interested in Bio-char? Join for a demonstration of a clean burning, simple, and portable means of producing biochar (charcoal for soil) on-farm from tree prunings or similar dry woody material. We will use a metal cone along with special fire management techniques that maximize biochar production and ensure a clean burn. The process can also be done using a cone shaped earthen pit, requiring only a shovel and match. We will share best practices for biochar throughout the demonstration, including recommended rates of biochar application for improving compost. Hosted by Josiah Hunt of Pacific Biochar.
