Beyond Food Sovereignty in Indian Country: Growing Restoration Plants

Last year at the EcoFam Conference the Shingle Springs Tribe talked about their experience of building a community garden. Now they are expanding their agricultural endeavors to include native plants to sell for habitat restoration. This diversification has many cultural and economic benefits and it aligns well with the tribe’s values and goals. We will also discuss and compare the new farming endeavors on other tribal land. Come catch up with the tribe and hear about their exciting progress over the past year.
