Tending the Wild & Our Garden

Traditional farming and food gathering was dependent on whole landscapes for sustenance— not just on cultivated fields. What do the landscapes around our farms and gardens offer that can sustain our farms and ourselves? How do forests and streamsheds contribute to the working farm? How do we participate in shaping and caring for that larger landscape? This workshop explores insights from Native American, Biodynamic, and European traditions that can inform our practices and add sustainability to contemporary farming.
