It is now well known that healthy, living soils are the core of a sustainable and successful farm — helping to build resilience to extreme weather events and water availability, reducing the need for off-farm inputs, and sequestering carbon to mitigate climate change. The recent explosion of information on building soil health and soil life presents farmers with exciting possibilities, but it can be a lot to navigate on your own. In this workshop, two organic farmers from across the US will share their experiences and research to help build a practical soil health plan that works for you. The Organic Farming Research Foundation (OFRF) staff will give a short overview of key resources on organic soil health, including guidebooks, research trends, on-line courses, and more.
