Spinning Food: Big Food's Attack on Organic and Practical tools to reclaim the debate

The stakes for influencing public perception of organic are high. As documented in Friends of the Earth's Spinning Food report, powerful segments of agribusiness use stealth PR tactics and spend millions to aggressively disseminate misinformation to undermine public confidence in organic and defend pesticides and GMOs.  Communications experts Malkan and Bourque and farmer Scott Murray offer a crash course in effective communications to bust industry myths and reclaim the debate. Participants will learn who’s behind the attack on organic, what stealth strategies are being used, and will walk away with tools, skills, and strategies to tell the real story of organic farming to inspire the public, media and policy makers to support continued growth of the organic sector.
