New pests, loss of winter chill hours, heat waves, and more extreme drought/deluge cycles are among the climate-change challenges that are making it tougher to farm in California. Growing cherries in the Central Valley and avocados on the South Coast is getting more complicated every year. Come hear from these organic farmers about the climate impacts they are grappling with, what they are doing to respond to the new normal, and what more they need to enhance their resilience to climate change. We will also discuss state efforts to address agricultural adaptation to a changing climate.
