Learn about the role of native plants on the farm and in surrounding ecosystems, and how to integrate them into the farm. Native plants are uniquely adapted to local conditions. They are more drought-resistant, pest-resistant, and supportive of beneficial organisms than are non-native plants. Areas with native plants provide the most important contribution to biodiversity. Speakers will explain the functions of native plants in the landscape, the organic management of invasives, and how to plant native grasses, shrubs and trees as well as collect seeds and propagate plants.
