Join us to hear from and celebrate growers who have many decades of farming stories and experiences. Learn from these wizened aggies as we tour through their minds, from their earliest memories of farming, right up to today. “Farmer John” Muller, 70, grew up farming in Half Moon Bay, where he operates a pumpkin patch, and produces flowers and vegetables. John served two terms as Half Moon Bay’s mayor and is on the boards of the San Francisco Produce Terminal and the State Water Resources Control Board. Lou Romano, 89, began growing cut flowers with his father in 1940 in Redwood City, Cupertino, and eventually San Jose. The family was a stalwart at the San Francisco Flower Mart from 1924 until 2009. In addition to flower growing, Lou harvested numerous crops in the wild for the floral trade. He is still active with his son Gary’s farm in the Sierra Valley.
