Andre Leu and John Roulac of the opening plenary and invocation, join here to present studies and next steps for addressing climate change. Andre will share emerging research demonstrating that U.S. organic agricultural systems can equal or surpass yields of conventional systems. Several meta-studies from developing countries also show organic systems achieving significantly higher yields than traditional systems. A key outcome of this research is the finding that organic systems achieve higher yields than conventional systems in the weather extremes of climate change. John Roulac will speak to the larger picture, focusing on the Earth’s oceans and the policy steps that will be necessary to reduce and reverse climate change.
